PB & J Day

In the wake of all the news about Wachovia, I packed peanutbutter & jelly sandwiches for my husband and myself. Sad times for Winston-Salem.

Show and Tell Friday - Tablecloth mistreatment

I love vintage tablecloths and decided to show this one off on my wall. I have a pretty Christmas one that I put up also. Need to find one for fall.....
Anyway we just put it up there on the star hooks and the clips you'd use for showercurtains or curtains. It really does wonders for this wall and thought I'd share :)

No love for the bird......

My family does not like the bird. My little one thinks it's scary, but he is warming up to it. My husband thinks it's something that should only be on a scary movie set. I informed him last night that it's hip halloween home decor and to get over it unless he wants to see my little birdie perched on his covers in the middle of the night.

Show and Tell Friday

My dad has recently revamped his 70's kitchen and while he was cleaning out the kitchen he found this bowl and asked me if I wanted it. I jumped on it! I'm an only child, so it's not like I beat out anyone else :)
The bowl was his mother's and it has neat little moons and stars around it. I need to get some little fall gourds and pumpkins to make it say "Welcome Fall".

Still Amazed with Facebook

Ok, so I've added some friends.....most are ones I haven't talked to in over 10 years, some over 20. I think it's hard jumping back in there with those friendships. I am so not the same person I was in highschool in so many ways and I'm sure they are not either. It's neat to look at the photos, see pics of the kids and spouse, and read their interests.
I can also see how facebook could really hurt someone's marriage that might not be on the stable side. It just takes one message from an old love and you are treading on shaky ground.
For the past few months it seems like each week I hear about someone's marriage breaking up. Most are a total shock to me. I am praying for each one that God will move in their marriage and work things out. I've been with my hubby since I was 15 years old. We got married when I graduated college. We've grown up together. One positive thing that has come out of all divorce news is that I have a new appreciation down deep for my marriage and my husband.
He's such a great guy (most of the time, all men have their faults right?). He's a great dad and he helps me so much around the house. Now, don't bother him while he's watching sports - if you do watch out!

Love ya sweets!

I was supposed to be scrapbooking......

This weekend I went to my friend Marianna's for a weekend of stampin' and scrappin'. I tried to scrapbook, I really did. I was tired for one thing. Marianna and Erika were making cute cards, so I packed up my scrapbooking (well, probably not packed up cause I'm one of the messiest ones out there...it was mostly still on my table) and commenced to stampin'. Here are a few things I made.

Blog, check - - - now facebook?!?

Just as I got the gumption to get my blog going, I got an email from a friend from high school giving me the 411 on an upcoming class reunion. Ok, good with that. Then she proceeds to tell me I need to set up a Facebook account and that all these people from our class are out there.

I barely even know what Facebook is all about, but I've set up an account and I have a few friends. Now to find out what a Wall is and if I post on your Wall can everyone else see it? Need to make sure I don't look like a complete idiot out there for all the world to see.

Today is my daddy's 78th birthday. I feel so lucky to have him in my life and can't imagine what life will be like without him. We're taking him to Outback tonite for a big steak!

Now, off the blog and onto Facebook. Next post, I promise I will post some pictures!
